Leverage Through Leadership

Program Synopsis & Outline

 

 

The Leverage through Leadership program is designed to help you gain cooperation from others using interpersonal skills and coping strategies.  You will learn how to function in and/or develop a more committed and productive workforce.

 

 

I.                   Duration

 

The Leverage through Leadership program is intended for adult learners attending classes either on a full-time, part-day basis OR in coach facilitated, one-on-one sessions. 

 

The program is intensive with regularly scheduled sessions and self-paced course work encompassing 60 hours over 3 weeks. Full-time participants should plan to spend 20 hours per week in sessions and additional time per week in home study.  Coach facilitated participants should plan to spend approximately 5 hours each week with the Coach and additional time to complete assignments.

II.                Objectives

 

The program focuses on realistic and practical techniques that mirror workplace situations.  The following skills are developed:

·         Defining and developing an appropriate and flexible management style

·         Understanding key leadership styles

·         Building communication skills: active listening, effective questioning, and harmonious nonverbal communication

·         Mastering communication challenges and conflict management

·         Coaching for success: diagnosing coaching skills, demonstrating effective feedback delivery and learning the benefits of constructive criticism

·         Bringing control to chaos through planning, organizing and scheduling

·         Creating a motivational environment for encouraging greater staff performance

·         Identifying and managing various work behaviors

·         Understanding how to influence your staff and maintaining employee motivation

·         Developing problem-solving and decision-making skills

·         Setting professional goals and planning for change

·         Planning performance evaluation reviews

 

 

III.             Program Topics

 

This interactive course is presented in such as way that will require you to think differently.  Supervising and Leading are strong Human Relations skills developed under the following topics:

·         Managing stress

Week Two

·         Coaching for peak performance

·         Giving constructive feedback

·         Building strong teams

·         Coping with change

·         Performance planning

Week Three

·         Time management & delegation

·         Problem solving techniques

·         Motivating from within

·         Negotiation skills

 

 

To be granted a certificate in Leverage through Leadership – Supervisory & Leadership Skills, participants must attend a minimum of 90% of the program, successfully complete required course work and demonstrate understanding and competency in human relation skills by earning a minimum final grade of 75%.
